Frequently Asked Questions...

When should I start planning / selecting my stairs and railing?

The best time to start meeting with us is at the planning stage of your build or renovation. This will help ensure you can have exactly what you want. We can point out possible limitations due to space or building code requirements.

When do I have to decide the final details?

Dependant on the materials you choose, we require final decisions 3 weeks before you want the stairs installed (just ahead of drywall).

Is there a warranty on my stairs and railing?

We will warrant our stairs and railing against defects in workmanship and material for one year from the date of install. *Warranty void if Railmaster Stairways Ltd. does not install stairs or railing.

Who finishes (paints, stains, covers) my new stairs?

You are responsible for staining, painting or finishing your stairs. We do deliver hardwood stairs with cardboard and plastic protection already applied to keep your investment safe during construction. *We highly recommend that stairs and railing should be finished by a professional. We can recommend a professional in your area.

Why do you need to know the type of flooring that I am installing?

The rise of each step should be equal. We build the stair assembly taking into account the type of floor at the top and bottom so that the finished product has equal rises after flooring is installed.

How do I get a quotation?

Simply call or email us and one of our reps will get back to you. We require builders plans and an on-site inspection.

Most quotes are free; however, a travel fee may apply to locations 100 km away. Part of this fee may be waived when purchase is made.

Where is your showroom and what are the hours?

We are located at 952 Glengarry Cr, Fergus, Ontario. Our showroom hours are 7 am until 5 pm Monday through Thursday and Fridays 8 am until noon. Some after hour appointments are available.

What are your terms and conditions?
